Anxiety Statistics

Anxiety disorders are one of the most common mental illnesses in the United States. It affects about 18.1% of the population yearly. Although anxiety is very treatable, only 36.9% of those suffering receive treatment. There are also many disorders within anxiety. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) affects 3.1% of the U.S. population (6.8 million people), but only 43.2% go to get treatment. Panic Disorder (PD) affects 2.7% of the U.S. population (6 million people) and women are twice as likely to be susceptible to it. Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) affects 6.8% if the U.S. population (15 million people) and both women and men are equally susceptible. There are also many more statistics for many more disorders but remember you are not alone. There are people that are willing to help and support you.
